Above is a display of a few of the oaths that must be recited by various elected officials, commissioned officers of the armed forces, and hundreds of others. Notably, one common phrase, “the Constitution”, stands out above all others followed by the phrase “against all enemies, foreign and domestic”. Clearly, the most important task of any president, vice-president, senator, member of the House, member of any of the armed forces, governors of the individual states, and hundreds and thousands of others is to defend the Constitution against any and all enemies.
